The work we do in our health ministries, wherever we offer them, is rooted in relationships.  We connect with people whom we serve and help them connect their faith and their health. As we share information to help people make healthy choices, as we refer people to resources that can support their health, as we sit with people in listening and prayer, the very relationships that develop are part of enhancing peoples’ health.
The relationships we enjoy through Health Ministries Association are equally as vital to us and our work. It’s truly a joy to connect with so many passionate, skilled, creative, vibrant colleagues from around the country. Here are ways I encourage us to stay connected:

  • HMA’s Facebook page—a great place to keep abreast of HMA happenings—upcoming conference updates, news about HMA members, etc.—and to find articles of relevance to our health ministries. Here’s the link: https://www.facebook.com/HealthMinistriesAssociation/.
  • The HMA website—includes resources and educational opportunities, pertinent articles, as well as organizational information on the members’ page, and more. Visit at www.hmassoc.org.
  • HMA’s annual meeting and conference — where we get together in person to renew relationships and meet new friends, all while learning from keynote speakers, workshop and poster presenters, and each other. Plan to join us October 11-14 this year!  Information at https://hmassoc.org/news-events/upcoming-conference/.

HMA Board members are also always happy to hear your comments or questions. You can find our contact emails at https://hmassoc.org/about-us/board-members/.

Blessings to you all, friends, as you bring your caring, relational presence into the world!

Peace,
Rev. Karen MacDonald, M.Div.
