Sister June Wilkerson, beloved friend, former board member and inspirational Lifetime Member of the Health Ministries Association, died November 24, 2015, in a skilled nursing facility run by her religious community, the Dominican Sisters of Sinsinawa, Wisconsin. Sister June was a member of the order for 67 years.

June was exemplary in her ministry to those broken and vulnerable. She was an educator, an advocate and a prophetic witness for social justice. Because of her lifetime commitment of humble loving service, June was chosen to receive the first Wilkerson Droege Award, named for her and co-recipient, Dr. Tom Droege.

Sister June will long be remembered for her spirit of joyful giving to those without voice to speak for their desire for healing and wholeness. Her fun loving happiness and spirit of discipleship will continue to resonate within those who knew her as mentor and friend. May she live in eternal joy.
